UFC heavyweight fighter, Tai Tuivasa went on a fishing trip with former UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira after UFC 284 in Australia. Australia is known for its exotic tourism, and wild and aquatic flora and fauna.

Tai Tuivasa, an Australian UFC fighter was spotted on a fishing trip with Charles Oliveira and uploaded a video criticizing Oliveira for his poor fishing skills. Brazilian champion, Charles Oliveira lost his title to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 last year and visited Australia to support his former opponent at UFC 284 in Perth.

“This guy beat Dustin Poirier!” Tai Tuivasa hilariously exclaimed as Charles Oliveira is seen struggling with the fishing rod. The former lightweight champion will be looking to take a shot at the title in a rematch against Islam Makhachev later this year.

Some of the most notable wins by Charles Oliveira have come over Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, Kevin Lee, and Tony Ferguson. Oliveria is an expert at Jiu-Jitsu grappling and is currently the best submission specialist in the UFC with 16 finishes by submission and 19 overall.

What’s next for Charles Oliveira? A look at potential opponents upon return to the UFC octagon

Former UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira will most probably look to take the rematch to avenge his UFC 280 championship loss against Islam Makhachev. After successfully defending his title at UFC 284 against Alexander Volkanovski, Makhachev is confusingly out of opponents.

Previously, former interim lightweight champions, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje have both had two title shots and fell short get their hands on UFC gold. Once against Khabib and the second time against Charles Oliveira. This has created a hole in the top echelon of the UFC lightweight rankings.

Despite their rankings at #2 and #3 spots in the lightweight tables, Poirier and Gaethje may not be the most suitable opponents for the championship or even for Oliveira having already suffered losses from the Brazilian lightweight. Thus, making Charles Oliveira the most ideal opponent for the Dagestani champion.

The only remaining fighter who is due to get a shot at the UFC lightweight championship is Beneil Dariush. With the #4 spot in the rankings, Beneil Dariush is on an eight-fight win streak and could possibly fight either Charles Oliveira as a tune-up fight or Islam Makhachev for the championship.
