Jordan Pruitt, a former contestant on the third season of “The Voice” has filed a lawsuit accusing her former manager, Keith Thomas – a Nashville manager, of sexually abusing her when she was 14 years old.

Together with her former manager, the suit also names Hollywood Records and parent company The Walt Disney Company, for allegedly failing to prevent the abuse from Thomas.
The suit details that the label compelled her to work with Thomas as her mentor and producer, and allowed him to be unsupervised, even though it knew or should have known that he was a sexual abuser. Thomas’ company, Levosia Entertainment, is also named in the suit.
On her official social media, she revealed she filed a lawsuit, indicating that she was no longer ‘a Jane Doe.’

In an interview with Variety, she released a scathing comment referring to Hollywood Records and Disney about how they care more about the profit than the actual welfare of the artist.
“Unfortunately, these large companies are primarily concerned with sales, money, and charts. Too often they fall short of protecting the young talent that they are ‘supposed’ to be caretakers for. Time and time again we see people in positions of power fail us. I couldn’t be more disappointed in how Disney treats their underage talent like cash cows.”
Thomas is a veteran Nashville producer. He has worked with artists such as Ronnie Milsap, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and Amy Grant. Since the early 2000s, he has focused his work on teenage female singers.
Continuing her statement with Variety, she noted that many in the Nashville music world fear the consequences of speaking up about the prevalent sexual abuse in the industry.
“I am standing up and speaking out not only for myself but for the countless victims across the world who have never been given the opportunity for justice. It is extremely taboo for anyone to speak about sexual abuse, misconduct, and exploitation of minors in the ordinarily conservative and genteel South. “
Neither Disney nor Hollywood Records have commented on Pruitt’s suit.
