BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for areas along the Boise River.
Officials with the Bureau of Reclamation and the Army Corps. of Engineers plan to release more water into the river to clear space in Lucky Peak Reservoir.
Minor flooding is possible in low-lying areas especially in Caldwell, Star and the Eagle Island area.
Several areas along the Boise Greenbelt are already under water. The river is expected to reach 7,000 cfs by Tuesday.
These increased flows will help reduce the flood risk later in the spring, which can happen due to rapidly melting snow and rain.
