BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Deputies are asking the public to help them find out who set the Shadow Hills Elementary playground on fire Saturday afternoon.

A school employee spotted the fire just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the northwest Ada County school, the Ada County Sheriff's Department said.

The flames burning up the wood chip playground had melted plastic slides and scorched the metal playset by the time Boise firefighters arrived on-scene.

Fire investigators are working with sheriff's deputies to find out how the fire started and identify who or what is responsible.

They ask anyone with information to call Ada County Sheriff's dispatch at 377-6790.
