Nikola Jokic and his brothers have been a focus during this Nuggets championship run as they have attended all his games and supported him to the fullest. Jokic has also stated that he only plays for his family and teammates and was happy to involve them in his celebrations.
Al Horford’s sister however, turned the situation around on them by referring to an incident in the past two years involving her tweets. In 2023 when the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers, Horford’s sister called out LeBron James for ‘acting’ after a missed foul call on him. Lakers fans on Twitter came after her for her ‘clout chasing’ for her comments on the game.

Nikola Jokic had no problem with sharing the limelight with his brothers
Despite Anna Horford’s comments accusing them of stealing the limelight, Jokic seemed to have no problem with that. Nikola Jokic approached his daughter, wife, and brothers right after winning the championship and celebrated with them. Jokic lived with his brothers in Denver and involved his family throughout his NBA journey.
Anna Horford accused them of clout chasing when Jokic himself invited them for the photoshoots. Horford received horrific abuse from a set of fans on Twitter who were clearly in the wrong. However, her trying to steal the limelight from Jokic celebrating a championship is seen as a low blow. A player enjoying the pinnacle of NBA success with his family is not comparable to a Tweet about LeBron James ‘acting.’
Anna Horford has had issues with Philadelphia 76ers fans since their comments towards her in 2022; however, considering the sporting rivalry between Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic, they might take her side this time. Joel Embiid won the MVP over Jokic for the 2023 season, but Jokic has overshadowed it by winning the Finals MVP as Embiid was bounced in the second round by Al Horford and the Boston Celtics.
