80 homes in Eagle will lose power Monday morning.

The Board of Ada County Commissioners issued an evacuation notice to every home between Hatchery and Trout Roads in Eagle on Friday afternoon, but some residents are choosing to stay.

“It’s a personal choice,” said Eagle City Council President, Naomi Preston. “If people don’t have a place to go, it’s a real difficult choice and if they’re not being flooded out immediately they may not want to leave.”

Law enforcement cannot force residents out, but if they leave and the situation worsens, they could not be allowed back into their homes due to safety concerns.

“I think that our residents of the Treasure Valley have big hearts. And I think that it’s time to dig down and help fellow residents in their time of need. These folks really need your help,” Preston said.

The Eagle City Council President has set up a benevolence fund through the Nazarene church where anyone can donate to help the victims.

“I’m trying to get the word out so these people can get some financial help because there are no government funds that are available, it’s not a federal disaster, we don’t have any FEMA funds available, so these folks are on their own,” Preston said.

If you would like to give to the Benevolence fund to support flood victims, they can give here.
